In this article I'm going to answer the question "What is Network Marketing" but actually tell you the truth behind it all...Its actually not part of an industry it is simply a part of a marketing strategy, a philosophy if you will.

There are actually over 100 different ways to market your product and services online here are the main types:

Direct Marketing - This is where you go directly to your client/business and show them your product or service and make a sale while you are stood there in front of them.


Affiliate Marketing - This is a firm favourite amongst internet marketers for is ease of use. A company will give you a unique link after you sign up with them and when someone clicks on this link and makes a purchase, you then get paid a percentage of the sale. Email Marketing - This is simply using the tools of email to deliver advertising messages. Email is one of the fastest, cheapest and easiest ways for marketers to connect with customers.


Digital Marketing - This can be quite a vast area but digital marketing refers to advertising delivered through digital channels such as search engines, websites and social media.


Multi-Level Marketing ( MLM ) - This is a strategy that some direct sales companies use to encourage their existing members to recruit new members by paying the existing members a percentage of their new recruits sales...tongue twister right? Basically an example would be, you come on board with me I make $10 you sign someone up you make $10 I make $2.


And then we have Network Marketing which is where you can tie all the above together and put yourself in front of your leads building your authority. So what is network marketing? Who are you marketing your products to when your on Facebook or emailing your list, contacting your downline...Your network, you are promoting to your network, that's all it is. You are marketing your product to your network. That's network marketing.

But do we all leverage Network marketing correctly? I see so many posts everyday in my network from people that just pitch too much or appear to be that "perfect marketer". Let me tell you something ...

"Network Marketing works but nobody buys into perfection..BE REAL"


This is something I drill into my team all the time, be yourself when your are networking because people will connect with the real you and actually seeing any flaws will make you appear more real and build more trust with your followers. When people post results of $10k a day and others post exciting updates of " I just made $250 ask me how" who do you think gets more engagement? The fact is the reason why Network Marketing works is because people are looking for a solution, If they already had lots of money they wouldn't be networking right? So seeing posts of $250 is more realistic to people and less of a lie. Im not saying that these high end posts are all lies because I have personally had days where I made over $1k a day but when I network I make sure to show people the stepping stones to this success.

No one likes what I call a Jumpship Marketer this is when people join everything. It's extremely annoying. No one likes it. You lose friends, because every day you want to sell a new product. Just so you know, people get tired of it and actually they Unfriend you or unfollow you.

Stay consistent with your services and market to you network to effectively provide solutions to their problems not just with your products but with information. It is fine to have multiple products to market but only bring them out to your network when you see someone needs that solution.
